Temporal Thermometers for Disney
Mark Hillier visited the Children’s Wards to see the temporal thermometers that were bought following his donation of over £1000 following the Three Peaks Challenge he completed back in August with friends
Taking children's temperatures is a very important nursing observation which is carried out by the nursing staff several times a day. A temperature is the first sign that a child has an infection and is vitally important for oncology children. These children find it very difficult to fight infection due to the chemotherapy treatment they are receiving.
This temporal thermometer is very quick and easy to use and can be done even if the child is sleeping. The temperature records instantly and so children do not tend to get upset and is easy to use even if children are asleep.
On behalf of the Disney ward team a huge thank you to Mark and his friends for this kind donation
