Kate and Sally-Ann run for NGH wards
Kate White and Sally-Ann Walden from Long Buckby asked people to dig deep and sponsor them on a 35-mile run through the "rolling" countryside of Northamptonshire on 6th June 2010.
Despite the rain, the floods, the storms and the huge amounts of cow poo the girls said it was really good fun. Sadly due to a knee injury Kate White was unable to run the event but cycled along side Sally-Ann for moral support.
Sally-Ann said: "I finished in just over eight hours and was seventh lady home despite getting lost in three fields. You would not believe how one corn field can look exactly the same as another and how footpaths and indeed other people can disappear so quickly."
The pair entered the event to raise money for Disney Ward and the Cancer Unit after hearing the news that a close friend of their oldest children had been diagnosed with leukaemia . They are raising money through just giving and are well on track to reach their target of £1000.
