ITU Bedroom
ITU Family Room
ITUs new visitors area
ITU have unveiled their newly refurbished visitors area. The old waiting area has been divided into two - which afford families a little more privacy - and the comfortable sofas encourage visitors to rest whilst waiting. The addition of a bedroom has been invaluable, enabling ITU to offer a private space for visitors to stay overnight.
Jo Dilley, Modern Matron for ITU said: “We are delighted with the refurbished visitors’ room. It is a comfortable and calming place to sit. The patients on ITU are often very unwell and their families need to be nearby. This room allows them to take some 'time out' rest, make a cup of tea. but be able to pop in and out as they want."
ITU are extremely grateful for the very generous donations from patients and their friends and relatives that have enabled the refurbishment to happen. The room has been transformed from what was once compared to “sitting in an uncomfortable doctor’s waiting room” to a relaxing homely atmosphere.
