How a Legacy Could benefit Northampton Charitable Fund

A large amount of the support we receive comes from gifts in wills. It is thanks to these donations that we are able to continue improving the facilities and care for our patients, visitors and staff - enabling us to provide the best possible service for local people.

We feel a special sense of privilege whenever Northampton General Hospital is mentioned in a will. A gift in a will is an honour, it reminds us of the commitment our supporters feel towards us and helps us care for future generations.

Making a will and keeping it up to date allows you to say who will benefit from your possessions and property. It also gives you the opportunity to provide for family and friends, and remember favourite charities.

To write your will, we strongly recommend using a solicitor or professional will writer. Although you can legally write your own will, it is easy to make a mistake that will invalidate it in the eyes of the law. This can cause more problems than it solves and could mean even more heartache for your family at what is already an emotional time.

More and more people are asking for donations to be given to a favourite charity in lieu of flowers at their funeral. You can also include a request for this in your will, giving the details of the charity or charities that you would like to benefit.
